Leslie Scarrott, PMHNP

Dr Les Scarrott, DNP, FNP-C has been a health care professional for more than 25 years. His nursing career spans across 17 years of experience as a Home Health Nurse, Hospice Nurse, Nurse Manager, and he is currently Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) In addition to his many responsibilities as a primary care provider working wit Desert Valley Medical Group, he also assists in the care of numerous community-based patients at local Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF) and Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) and is one of the only primary care providers to provide house call services and care.

He is the only primary care provider with a Doctor of Nursing Practice associated with Desert Valley Medical Group. He is also Associate Medical Director at a local Skilled Nursing Facility as well as working with several local hospice agencies. He works diligently to provide timely and compassionate care to terminally ill patients as well as all those in need in our community.

Dr Scarrott is passionate about passing on his extensive knowledge and experience to the next generation of Nurse Practitioners. He accomplishes this by participating in advancing the knowledge base and qualifications of Nurse Practitioners by mentoring and educating students in the role of clinical preceptor. He has worked with Loma Linda School of Nursing, Chamberlain College of Nursing and his Doctorate with Chamberlain University.

Dr Scarrott obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Edmonton in Alberta, Canada, and furthered his education after immigrating to the United States by obtaining a Master of Science in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner certification with Chamberlain college of Nursing and his Doctorate with Chamberlain University.

Dr Scarrott is now further broadening his education and obtaining a Post Masters Certification as a psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and working with High Desert Psychological Services, Inc.

When Dr Scarrott has free time, you will find him spending time with his family, traveling, enjoying outdoor activities and gardening.
